The Warm & Cozy Stocking (w/ bonus Little Cozy Stocking)

$5.00

This stocking is a simple afterthought heel stocking with thoughtful details that make it the perfect modern stocking to decorate for the holidays. It’s a quick, relaxing knit that produces a soft and cozy stocking, and it’s perfect for knitting while watching your favorite holiday movies!

When knit with suri or mohair as the contrast color yarns, this stocking is extremely soft and plush. In order to achieve the color changes in the pattern, a single main color of worsted weight yarn is held double with the contrast colors throughout and only the contrast color yarns are changed.

At the suggested gauge of 3.75 stitches and 22 rows for 4 inches / 10 centimeters, you will require about:
- Main Color: 210 yards of a worsted weight yarn
- Contrast Color A: 100 yards of suri/mohair
- Contrast Color B: 125 yards of suri/mohair

At the suggested gauge this stocking is 18 inches from cast on edge to tip of the toe and 7 inches measured across the “leg” portion of the stocking.

However, gauge is not critical, so you can work with almost any combination of yarns that are close to gauge when held together… so feel free to get creative with your choices! To help with this, the pattern includes a couple alternative yarn combinations along with photos of example stockings knit with the provided suggestion.
